Ehime Medical University, Japan: Ehime Medical University recently executed a wireless patient monitoring demonstration project in Ehime, Japan. The project was coordinated by Dr. Eizen Kimura, M.D. Ph.D., IT Director of Ehime Medical University. The demonstration project demonstrated the flexibility of TeleVital’s VitalWare technologies which among other things allows moving vehicles such as ambulances to remain connected to a wireless Wi-Fi network during transnsport. The demonstration exhibited an ambulance driving from a car accident to a hospital while the patients 12 lead ECG and video was transmitted in real-time over Cisco’s WLAN. Doctors located in the hospital were able to login to the hospital’s network and monitor patients in transit.
